Blackberry 10, BES 10, and Domino Traveler 8.5.3.3

There are a number of posts with confusion on Blackberry 10 and Lotus Domino and if Traveler 9 is required. Hopefully this can clear things up, all of these scenarios have been tested on a Playbook, a Z10, BDS 6.2 and Domino Traveler 8.5.3.3. I have heard that Traveler 8.5.3.100 and 8.5.3.200 do not work with the Blackberry 10 though this has not been confirmed by myself.
Ensure that you have a working Traveler environment first with an SSL certificate that is trusted by the Blackberry devices. This can be accomplished by purchasing a certificate from a Certificate Authority or using a self signed certificate and adding it either manually by visiting the Traveler web site on the device or deploying it through the BDS server.

Limitations:
  • Traveler 8.5.3 will not sync Memos and Todo: Blackberry KB33287. Traveler 9 will probably fix this and is coming in March 2013
  • Traveler only configs will not have any Traveler policies implemented.
  • Both configs below need Session Authentication set, Both Single and Multi Server work, having an empty idle timeout keeps the end user from having to re-authenticate to Traveler every day or so. IBM has instructions here
